Derick Schaefer

Derick is Senior Vice President, Technology at Mod Op Strategic Consulting, responsible for strategic client engagement. He is passionate about the creation and execution of customer-centric business strategy using technology and process as enablers.

Derick has 27 years of experience in the industry, most recently working as Chief Technology Officer at Trintech Inc. before joining Mod Op Strategic Consulting. Derick has also been VP of Engineering & Information Security at Digital Insight, as well as VP of Engineering and Product Management at NCR. Derick was the founder of a successful startup called Synthesis and worked at The Microsoft Corporation for over a decade.

Derick holds a BA from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the University of Miami. He is also on the Advisory Board for CogniSwitch, fluent in Spanish and has a working knowledge of Portuguese. Outside of work, Derick enjoys spending time with his wife, who is Chief Experience Officer for Caliber Inc., and their son, who attends Southwestern University. Derick and his wife breed Registered Texas Longhorns and are members of the Texas Longhorn Breeder’s Association and the Texas & Southwestern Cattleraisers Association.
